About New Beginnings

New Beginnings Therapy was created with you in mind.  Dr. LeBaron has spent the past ten years of her practice listening to what makes her clients' experience in therapy the best and most effective.  New Beginnings has been hand-crafted and is improved daily to make you feel comfortable, supported, and heard.  New Beginnings is constantly growing and changing, just like you.  If there is ever anything we can do to make your experience better, don't hesitate to tell us!  Here, your voice matters.

At New Beginnings, we specialize in several important areas:  Dr. LeBaron specializes in women's mental, emotional, and relational health, focusing on the treatment of depression, anxiety, eating disorders, body image issues, perfectionism and people-pleasing, and more.  She also specializes in couples therapy.  Denise Kearl specializes in helping people overcome trauma, PTSD, and serious persistent mental issues (SPMI).  She is certified in both EMDR and brain-spotting and trained in both CBT and DBT.

New Beginnings was opened in Logan, UT in September of 2018 by Dr. Carly LeBaron.  Serving the amazing people of Cache Valley runs her blood; her family has been doing business in Cache Valley for almost 100 years.  Her great-grandfather, Al Larsen, founded Al's Sporting Goods in 1921, just one block away from our office in Century Square.  Her grandfather, Darwin Larsen, founded Al's Trophies & Frames in 1954 and her father, Vint Larsen, still runs it today.  She is incredibly proud to be a 4th generation small business owner here in the heart of Logan.

Meet Our Staff

Dr. Carly LeBaron, Ph.D., LMFT

While New Beginnings may be the new kid in town, I've been working with my amazing clients for over eleven years in both Utah County and Cache County.  I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Utah State University (Go Aggies!) and my Master's and Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy at BYU.  I've been privileged to work in a community clinic, a women's center, and several group private practices before opening New Beginnings.  I also published my first book in 2017, "Shattering the Porcelain: Overcoming Perfectionism and People-Pleasing and Becoming the Real You."  I'm completely biased, but I have the best job in the world and it's an honor to meet and work with my clients.

I am married to my best friend and we have three incredible sons and a dog named Bandit.  I love to write, cook, bake, read, go hiking and camping, landscape, and be outside.  I'm a total foodie and yoga enthusiast!  Right now, I'm trying to learn to play the piano and working hard every day to be my authentic self.  Come grow with me!

Denise Kearl, MSW, LCSW

I have worked in the mental health field for 28 years in various capacities.  I received my Master's degree in Social Work from USU. I specialize in working with individuals suffering from serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI), depression, trauma, anxiety, and many other concerning issues.

I am EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy certified and brain spotting certified. I have been trained in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and am very knowledgeable in DBT (Dialectal Behavioral Therapy).  I enjoy working with both teenagers and adults.

I easily build relationships with my clients as I empathize with each person's concerns. All people struggle in life, and at times, need help. Goals are established with the client, rather than for the client and I tailor treatment to the unique needs of each person.

Lauren Dyches, Receptionist

Hi, I’m Lauren!  I was born and raised in Texas and I am one of those Texans who believes it is the best state in the country.  I moved to Utah to go to college on a music scholarship, though I hardly play my oboe anymore. Through my undergrad, I worked with some graduate students on drug addiction research and it was an amazing experience.  I also worked in a bakery and loved it! I love the smell of freshly baked French bread.

I ended up getting my bachelor’s degree in psychology from USU, just like Dr. LeBaron.  After graduation, I worked at a residential treatment center.  I am currently working on my MBA from Utah State and I’m excited to see where it takes me.

I just got married last year to an Idaho farm boy.  We don’t have any kids, but we do have three adorable hedgehogs that I’m obsessed with.  I’m excited to be a part of The New Beginnings family!
